PRINCIPLE WORKING |
| |
Precious Rotary Kiln is very much suitable for
Calcination or drying. Calcinations is the process where material is being heated to the desired temperature at which physical and chemical changes take place to formed the product.
Basically this contains having long shell supported on tyres and driven by Girth gear, pinion gear and gear box. The size of the Kiln is designed on the basis of the properties of the material because the rate of heat transfer depends very much on the diameter, length, speed of the shell; slope of the shell and even on the thickness of the refectory. The heating inside the kiln takes place by convection, radiation and conduction. Hence the type and size of the flame is also very important, so high quality burner should be used for the kiln. Usually flames are being injected through the burner pipe in the opposite direction of the flow of the material called counter current, while sometime it flows in the same direction of flow of material and called co-current process. It all depends upon the required temperature, which varies from 3500 C to 11000 C. usually the fuel for firing is oil, gas or the pulverized coal. |

| Application |
The Precious Rotary Kilns are used mainly for the calcinations of Cement, Lime, Refractories, Metakaolin, Titanium dioxide, Alumina, Vermiculite, Iron Ore Pellets etc.
The kilns are designed on the basis of required temperature, physical properties of the material, particle size of the material, production capacity etc. |

Capacity |
|
|
Rotary Kiln are available start from 1 mtr dia to 3 mtr dia and length from 5 mtr to 50 mtr which will be designed on the following specification.
1. Particle size and density and other physical properties of the material
2. Maximum temperature of Calcination
3. Production capacity in Ton per hour. |
| 2. Rotary cooler |
Coolers also have a rotating shell but they are of smaller size does not require refractories since they are being used to cool the material; usually the material is received from Rotary Kiln for cooling. Mostly air is being used, and sometime water is also being spread on shell keep the shell cool.
This cooler is usually installed just next to the kilns to make the handling of the material comfortable for further process. |
